Planning Policy

North Somerset Council (NSC) is responsible for planning policy and land use in North Somerset. The Council does not currently have an agreed policy related to its own approach to planning issues but refers to national and NSC policies as and where appropriate.

In North Somerset planning policy is defined by Government policy in the form of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), the North Somerset Core Strategy, the Replacement Local Plan, Joint Waste Plan, Minerals Plan and, significantly, the Sites & Policies Plan.  Information on planning policy is available on NSC’s website.
